UFO Town

About a decade ago, a penpal visited Roswell, NM. Long famed for the 1947 UFO crash, the city has many reminders of the event. The penpal photographed a number of them.

The streetlights in Roswell have an otherwordly look. I don't think, however, the Roswell ETs closely resembled the typical grays.

Reminders of ET are ubiquitous, even among local businesses.

The city has a UFO museum and research center.

The penpal also sent an artist's depiction of the 1964 Socorro incident.

The post is interesting. Roswell is significant; it's one of the most well known cases of places in which UFOs crashed. I would like to visit Roswell at some point in the future.

Yes it would be interesting. Recently, however, in his ROSWELL IN THE 21ST CENTURY, K. Randle doubted the truth would be known (for certain) anytime soon.
Did you hear about the "Roswell slides" controversy a few years ago? That hoax was one of many which has besmirched this case and UFOlogy in general.

I've heard about the Roswell slides and that photo of a mummified boy, which was not a space alien. You're right; that hoax muddied up the water on the case.

Notice I just changed the title of the post. Btw Neal, have you heard of the Kecksburg crash of 1965?

I looked up some information on the Kecksburg crash a few minutes ago. Some people tried to argue that it was the Soviet Kosmos 96 space probe, but in 1991, the U.S. Space Command issued a report saying that it was not that Soviet probe.

One witness said that the crashed object had some writing on it that somewhat resembled ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. Russian script does not look like hieroglyphics.

Hi Neal. Yes there doesn’t appear to be any prosaic explanation for the Kecksburg object. It was most likely ET. Roswell was too, but as we know, that case has been tainted by misinformation of many kinds.

Btw I saw Jupiter and Mars again in the predawn dark. Mars is moving farther away from Jupiter and toward the stars of Scorpius.

It's great getting to see Mars in the early morning hours. While I was in the Air Force, some pilots told me that while flying, they had occasionally seen objects that moved with very unusual flight patterns, ones unlike those of any known flying vehicles made by humans.

Did those pilots report their sightings to any UFO groups after they were discharged?

I don't know if those particular pilots did it, but some Air Force pilots (and also some Navy pilots) have reported those types of sightings to UFO groups. One of the pilots with whom I talked, made an important point in the conversation that I had with him. He said that extraterrestrials who are of civilizations thousands of years older than ours would have technology far more advanced than that of humans. I said, "Humans have not discovered all the laws of physics." He said, "You're right; there is a lot that humans don't know yet."
