Alleged encounter with Roswell Material

Just recently, Steven Hayes, a former Air Defense artillery battery commander, claimed that, after being transferred from El Paso TX to Roswell NM in 1988, he was shown strange material and papers. According to this new story, some of the alien crash debris was not sent to Wright Patterson but was kept in a safe at the Roswell base, along with secret documents. When the base closed, the Roswell National Guard Armory obtained the safe. Highly classified pieces and papers had not been removed (or not entirely) when this occurred. One day, while Hayes was speaking with local personnel, the subject of Roswell came up. A "Major M.G." invited Hayes to see actual crash material. Since both men had the necessary clearances, Major M.G. opened the safe and took out a ledger looking book marked Top Secret. Inside the front cover was a folded silvery material resembling cellaphane. It could float in the air. There was also a small piece of an I-beam, about 10" long and 1/2" thick, with strange symbols. Hayes had time to read some of the documents, which indicated that UFOs and aliens are not friendly and "should be considered a Foe."
Many people will doubt this story. They'll assume that even if Hayes and M.G. had the necessary clearances, they had no need to know. And the government wouldn't have allowed such highly classified material (probably ABOVE Top Secret) to be left behind, for the National Guard. It is possible, however, that the men did have a need to know. As an air defense commander, Hayes had to be made aware of an aerial threat. Besides ample evidence for the "foe" assessment, New Mexico, like certain other regions, had a high level of alien activity. The seriousness of the issue may also explain why some crash material was left in the safe. A little debris, besides documents, may have been essential to convince skeptical commanders that the threat was real.
