The ETs of '73

Over the years, I've written a lot about the October war of 1973. But there was much else going on that fall. It was a very eventful time. Besides the great Mideast conflict, there was Watergate, the Agnew resignation and a great UFO wave. The latter involved sightings of unusual entities as well as craft. Here I mention a few reports of alien beings, and interpret them. I don't include the well-known Pascagoula abduction as it has already received a great deal of publicity and emphasis.
On October 13 an abductee in Ohio saw the above being. Although broadly humanlike it is clearly alien--exactly the impression the phenomenon wished to impart with the sighting. ETs have a long running conditioning program, part of which is to get humanity used to the idea of aliens arriving here. Obvious non-humans are an important part of this conditioning.
On October 19, 1973, a woman was driving along Interstate 75 when her engine quit, forcing her to pull over to the side of the road. She then saw a metallic  humanoid or robot, with shriveled legs, walk around her car, and leave. Often the phenomenon will cause a car to stop so a witness can better observe something not of this Earth.
On October 20, a student at the University of Georgia saw a purple UFO from which emerged a being with tentacles atop its head. Its hands had 3-4 fingers. Again the idea was to emphasize an unEarthly origin--make it clear ET has arrived. It's unlikely such a creature was naturally evolved; it was just part of the familiarization-with-aliens show. But aliens don't want the real goal of their appearances to be too obvious so they appear to be engaged in "research."  The tentacled creature had several odd objects on its belt and looked like it was taking readings with them. That was mere pretense. The real objective was to be seen and recognized as alien. That's why it was well--illuminated by a green light from its craft. It was clearly meant to be seen.
On November 4, in NH, aliens attracted the attention of a witness by making a brushing sound against his house. When he looked outside, he saw a pair of humanoids like the one in the lower left, above. Pointed ears and silvery covering emphasized alien origin. The ETs, however, obscured their true mission by collecting leaves and sticks. It's unlikely such mundane things were of real interest.
The being in the upper right was seen at Vilvorde, Belgium, in mid December. A spaceman outfit is one of many ways to reinforce the impression of being from elsewhere. In this case, the entity tried to hide its real purpose by using a device similar to a mine-detector to examine brickbats.
