High Strangeness
Over the years, there have been many reports of humanoids exhibiting "high strangeness" i.e. behavior unlike what we would expect of space travelers. Some examples of this were noted in October 1973.
Near Savannah, Georgia, on October 18, motorists observed a tiny silver being standing beside US Rt. 17. Many drivers slowed down to better see the humanoid. Standing near a road in full view of traffic can be called high strangeness. It was far from the clearest example; just standing was nowhere near as odd as other reported behavior. In other cases, aliens were motionless except for moving their arms around their waists, or floated up and down from their craft. Yet many people would claim no intelligent being would travel hundreds of light years just to loiter near a highway.
In fact the ET had an important mission, essentially no different from that of thousands of others. He came (or was displayed) just to be seen, to help get humanity used to the reality of aliens, and their presence here. The entity was tiny to make it clear he was not human, or not of this world. To ensure that people got the message, he was silvery to be conspicuous, and appeared along a major highway. No doubt, witnesses concluded aliens are real and here.
In light of the alien objective, standing near a road was not really strange. But why is there truly odd behavior? Such behavior causes people to question the ETH hence doesn't appear consistent with acclimation to ETs. But acclimation is a long, slow process. It'll probably take a century to complete; moreover its consummation will doom the status quo. Nineteen seventy three was far too early for general acceptance of the alien reality; even in 2021 it would be premature. Therefore even as acclimation continues the phenomenon ensures there is enough grounds for doubt to prevent things from coming to a head too soon.

They are certainly real. Those beings are of various extraterrestrial races. Their civilizations are hundreds of thousands of years older than ours. As a result, their level of technology is far more advanced than ours. They have developed means of traveling huge distances in very short time intervals. I have come up with some ideas of how they are doing it. One is that there is a universe in which the speed of light is not the maximum velocity. In other words, the laws of physics are different in it than they are in this universe. ETs may have figured out ways to enter that universe, travel many light years in extremely short spans, and then come back into this universe. ETs must vary in appearance, but I think that most or all have two legs and two arms. In other words, their body shapes are approximately humanoid. However, there must be variations in skin color and head shape. Their internal anatomy differs from ours in some ways.
Hi Neal,
IMO hundreds of thousands of years older is a reasonable estimate; though some ET civilizations could be millions of years older. One poster on the paracast forum said they travel by means of Gravitational Field Propulsion. Wormholes are another suggested means.
I think most aliens basically resemble humans. Spacefaring types, however, are not naturally evolved but specially designed for space travel. They can live in a low gravity or weightless environment without bone loss and perhaps also withstand radiation.

Btw I assume two things about the tiny humanoid. First it was in view only a short time, maybe half an hour at the most. Second it probably moved a little, perhaps turning its head, to show it was a real alien not a fake.

I also think that most of the seafaring ones are specially evolved to handle weightlessness. There might be a few rare exceptions, i.e. ones that have come up with some type of artificial gravity (or something similar to it) in their spaceships to keep from being weightless while traveling in those starships.
Sure that's possible. I think aliens are almost certainly designed to ensure the rigors of outer space or are much less fragile in this regard than humans.
Btw I make a third assumption about the Rt. 17 humanoid. Although reportedly tiny I doubt it was literally tiny--just a few inches in height. People wouldn't have noticed it or would've assumed it was just a piece of junk or a toy. I think the alien was most likely about 60cm tall--big enough to ensure it got attention but way too small to be a human being. Almost certainly it met the two criteria of alien appearances 1. be noticed and 2. be recognized as nonhuman or ET.

December 22, 2020 CORRECTION: Above, second sentence I meant "endure' not "ensure."
I wonder why there are so many people out there thinking that aliens would take over Earth upon arriving. First, there's a big thing that humans tend to forget: aliens aren't actually monsters. It's clear that if aliens wanted to rule / destroy Earth upon their initial arrival, they would have done this a long time ago. Aliens really aren't naturally creatures of evil, just as humans aren't. I think it's quite intelligent and honestly endearing that aliens would just come to Earth and hang out by a highway to make their existence known. Aliens are a lot smarter than humans give them credit for, in my opinion.
I certainly agree about the nature of aliens and their motives. And I've long thought aliens were EXTREMELY intelligent. Evidence for this is not just their mastery of interstellar travel. ET operations on Earth reveal great sophistication and foresight.
